FAQ
Common questions about ROXFIT and how it works
ROXFIT Ultra
What is ROXFIT Ultra?
ROXFIT is the app for HYROX & Hybrid racing. Ultra adds premium features including race predictions, personalised pacing and Compete. Explore the features on the Ultra page.
What happens to the ROXFIT app I use today?
Nothing changes. The app you use today stays free. Ultra adds a new set of premium features on top. It's additive, not a replacement.
What's free and what's in Ultra?
The core app is free: workouts, HYPE, Race Goals, race tracking, results and your profile. Every athlete gets four free challenges to start, with new free ones released from time to time, plus a short AI summary after each claimed race, workout or challenge. Ultra adds Compete (Race Your Past Self, Race Friends, your Compete Level and unlimited challenges) and Athlete IQ (race predictions, Personalised Pacing and deeper race analysis).
I paid on the website but Ultra isn't on. What do I do?
Paying and activating are two separate steps. Make sure you're logged into the ROXFIT account you bought Ultra for, then go to You tab > settings cog > Activate subscription > Enter code and paste the code from your receipt email. Can't find the email? Check your spam folder.
Getting started
How do I create an account?
Download ROXFIT from the App Store or Google Play. Tap Sign Up, choose email, Google, or Apple, and enter your name, gender, and date of birth. Full walkthrough in the Getting Started guide.
How is the app organised?
Four tabs: Home, Train, Races and You, plus the HYPE button in the centre. Home is your feed. Train is your workout hub. Races is where you find events and results. You is your own page, with your history, claimed races and settings.
How do I find my first workout?
Three ways: the daily WOD on your Home feed, the Workout Library in the Train tab, or tap HYPE and describe what you want. Full breakdown in the Getting Started guide.
How do I use Race Goals?
Race Goals turns a goal time into a station-by-station race plan. Full setup in the Race Goals guide.
Can I use ROXFIT without training for a race?
Yes. You can build, generate, and complete workouts without any race on the horizon. The race features are there when you need them.
Race Goals
What is Race Goals?
Race Goals turns your target finish time into a race plan. Give it your target finish time, division, and venue, and it maps out exactly how long you should spend on every run, every station, and your total Roxzone time.
How do I open Race Goals?
Three ways in: search for Race Goals in the Races tab, tap the calculator icon on any Event page, or tap the Race Goals icon on the Home screen.
What information do I need to set up a plan?
Your race venue (or General Course if yours is not listed yet), your gender and division (Open, Doubles, Relay, or PRO), and your target finish time. You can then edit individual splits before syncing.
Can I adjust my splits before race day?
Yes. Tap any split to edit it manually. Build the plan around your strengths. Own the Ski Erg? Take a second back. Wall Balls your weakness? Give yourself the time.
How do I get my race plan onto my watch?
Once your splits are set, tap Add pacing to wearable and choose Apple Watch, Garmin or Wear OS. Full steps in the Apple Watch guide, Garmin guide and Wear OS guide.
Why isn't my event's course map ready yet?
There are two course maps and they arrive separately. Race Goals uses the flat course map, and Personalised Pacing in Ultra uses the 3D simulation map. You can set a Race Goal before the flat map is out. Once it's added, your time is spread across that venue's laps and Roxzone, and you can send the plan to your watch. There's no set lead time for either map.
Apple Watch
What do I need to connect Apple Watch?
An iPhone with ROXFIT installed, an Apple Watch paired to that iPhone, and the ROXFIT Watch app. The watch app is bundled with the iOS app. No separate download needed.
How do I pair my Apple Watch?
Open ROXFIT on your iPhone, tap the You tab, then the settings cog (top right). Tap Connected apps and devices and choose Apple Watch. The app detects it automatically. Full steps in the Apple Watch guide.
What permissions does ROXFIT need?
Grant Health & Workouts and Motion & Fitness permissions. These let ROXFIT track heart rate, record sessions, and log calories.
How do I send my Race Goals splits to my Apple Watch?
Open Race Goals, tap "Add pacing to wearable," choose Apple Watch, adjust your settings, and sync. Your splits are on your wrist for race day.
Do workout results sync back automatically?
Yes. Data syncs from your watch to your iPhone with no manual upload needed. If results are not appearing, check the Sync Queue on your watch and make sure Bluetooth is on.
Garmin
How do I connect ROXFIT to Garmin?
Open ROXFIT, tap the You tab, then the settings cog (top right). Tap Connected apps and devices, choose Garmin, log in to Garmin Connect and turn on both permission toggles. Full steps in the Garmin guide.
How do I install the ROXFIT app on my Garmin watch?
The ROXFIT Garmin app is a full Connect IQ app with a home screen, workout list, player, and Free Train mode. Install it from the Garmin Connect IQ store by searching ROXFIT, then confirm it on your watch. Full steps in the Garmin guide.
What happened to the ROXFIT Garmin Data Field?
It has been replaced by the full ROXFIT Garmin app. If you are still using the Data Field integration, see the Data Field guide.
How do I get my Race Goals plan onto my Garmin?
Build your plan in Race Goals, select your Garmin device, choose your sync options, and tap Sync to Garmin. It goes straight to your watch over Bluetooth, no extra step needed. Full steps in the Garmin guide.
How do workout results get back to ROXFIT from Garmin?
Save your workout on the watch and it syncs back to ROXFIT over Bluetooth automatically. Results can also come across through Garmin Connect, so if one is missing, check the Sync Queue on your watch and Garmin Connect. Do not tap Discard. That permanently deletes the session.
What are the recommended race-day Garmin settings?
On your watch, go to Settings > Workout options and set Auto-lap to Off and Transitions to Run Arch Only. This keeps button presses to a minimum during transitions. Full breakdown in the Garmin guide.
Race results
How do I find my HYROX race results?
Go to the Races tab, use the search bar, and type the name on your HYROX ticket. Tap any result to see full station splits, rankings, and pacing data. Full guide in the HYROX results guide.
How do I claim a race?
Go to the Races tab, tap the yellow + Add races button, search for your race and add it. If you can find your result on the HYROX website but not in ROXFIT, copy its link, then go to Races > + Add races > Add past race > I can't find my race and paste it in. Full steps in the HYROX results guide.
What name should I use when searching?
The name on your HYROX ticket, because that is the name on your result. If you have raced under a different name, for example before marriage or divorce, you can still claim those races through Races > + Add races by searching the old name.
Can I remove a race from my profile?
Yes. Tap the You tab, then the Races tab, tap the race, tap the three dots and select Remove race. The result stays in ROXFIT, it just comes off your profile.
How do I compare my splits against other athletes?
Tap "Compare" on any completed result. You can benchmark against the race average, age group average, wave average, a saved race, or a specific athlete.
My result looks out of date. How do I refresh it?
Open the result, tap the three dots near the share button, and select "Refresh result" to pull the latest data from HYROX.
How do I share my results?
Tap "Share results" to copy a link or send via other apps. For shareable graphics, tap "See All" next to Overlays, pick a design, and download.
What's the difference between claiming, tracking and saving a race?
Claim a race when it's yours: it goes on your profile and counts toward your PBs and stats. Track a race to follow someone live on race day. Save a race to keep any result handy, for example to compare against later.
Someone else's race is on my profile. How do I remove it?
ROXFIT matches races by name, so a result from someone with the same name can end up on your profile. Tap the You tab, then the Races tab, tap the race, tap the three dots and select Remove race.
My result is wrong, shows DQ, or my rank is different from HYROX.
Open the result, tap the three dots and select Refresh result to pull the latest data. All results come from HYROX, so any correction has to be made by HYROX. A DQ shows exactly as HYROX lists it. Ranks can differ because ROXFIT ranks you across the whole event, while HYROX ranks by day.
I'm not on the start list, or I can't see my start time.
Start lists and start times come from HYROX, so if you're not on the HYROX start list yet, you won't be in ROXFIT. Start lists usually publish one to two days before race day, often in batches.
What does Avg Run mean?
On a race result, Avg Run is your total running time divided by 8, and doesn't include Roxzone. On race plans and the race calculator, the Avg Run row shows your average pace per km, which does include Roxzone.
Tracking races
How do I track someone's race?
Search for their name from the Home feed or Races tab, select their race, and tap "Track race." On race day they appear at the top of your Home feed. Full guide in Tracking a Race.
What notifications can I set up?
Three options: Start/End (when they cross the start and finish lines), All stations (an update at each station), and Rank changes (when their overall or age group position shifts).
Where do tracked races appear in the app?
Go to the Races tab and tap Tracking at the top. You will see suggestions to track, your recent tracks and the races you are currently tracking. On race day they also appear in a horizontal scroll at the top of your Home feed.
How do I stop tracking a race?
Swipe left on it in the Tracking tab and delete it, or untick Tracking race on the event.
Workouts
Does ROXFIT provide training plans?
Not currently. HYPE, the ROXFIT AI assistant, helps you create workouts around your equipment, time, and goals. Structured multi-week plans are not yet available.
Watches
Which watches work with ROXFIT?
Apple Watch on watchOS 10 or later (Series 4 or later, any SE or any Ultra), Wear OS watches paired to an Android phone (Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch4 or later), and supported Garmin models. See the full list in the compatibility guide. No watch? ROXFIT works fully on your phone.
My workout hasn't synced from my watch. What should I do?
Check the Sync Queue on your watch, keep Bluetooth on and open ROXFIT on your phone. Don't reinstall the app, clear its storage or reset your watch while a workout is waiting to sync, as that can delete it.
Wear OS
What do I need to use ROXFIT on Wear OS?
A watch running Wear OS, paired to an Android phone with ROXFIT installed. Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch4 or later work. Older Samsung watches that run Tizen aren't supported.
How do I send my Race Goals splits to my Wear OS watch?
Open Race Goals, tap Add pacing to wearable, select Wear OS, tap Confirm, then tap Sync to Watch. Full steps in the Wear OS guide.
Do workout results sync back automatically?
Yes. Completed workouts wait in the watch's Sync Queue until they reach your phone, with no manual upload needed.
Heart rate zones
How are my heart rate zones set?
By default, ROXFIT sets your max heart rate as 220 minus your age, using the date of birth on your profile, and builds your zones from that. With Ultra you can set your own max heart rate and zones: tap the You tab, scroll to the bottom and open Athlete IQ.
Connected apps
What syncs with Strava?
ROXFIT sends your completed workouts and race results to Strava, including heart rate for ROXFIT workouts. Workouts and races have separate Strava settings in You tab > settings cog > Connected apps and devices. Connecting Strava doesn't send past activities.
What about Apple Health and Health Connect?
Both import and export workout data. When you connect, you can import a short recent history. Garmin and Strava don't bring in past activities.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
Tap the You tab, then the settings cog, then Delete Account.
How do I change my email address?
Tap the You tab, then the settings cog, then Email address.
Can I merge two ROXFIT accounts?
No, two accounts can't be merged. Workouts and history stay on the account they were recorded on, but you can add your HYROX races to the account you want to keep through + Add races.
I signed up with Apple. What's my password?
Accounts created with Sign in with Apple don't have a password. Choose Sign in with Apple when you log in.
